Attack the Roots
The time is coming in which we will need to begin to seriously consider enhancing efforts of resistance to systemic injustices that are rooted within society. The time has come to ‘attack the roots’ of capitalism and the ills that it brings and reinforces throughout society. It is time to consider community-supported forms of struggle and resistance against the very system that has, for too long now, been predicated on oppression and injustice so a few may benefit. This is the time to resist.
Because I’d Rather Be Flag Burning
Patriotism. Nation. State. Nationalism. Allegiance. Duty. Flag. Words perhaps not so different within the context of the modern world in which we live. We are quick to place them in the same category; one that insists upon a harsh obedience to a status quo. A status quo of silence, if you will.
I Refuse
“I am a man”…the quintessential definition that seeks to describe the essence of my sexual orientation and definition, and yet what does that actually mean? What does it mean to be a “man” or “male”? This is not some concrete, value-free, precise definition or a rigid binary of which a polar opposite is to the other side. Nor is this a definition that may be easily passed off, and have no consequences whatsoever.
Days of Love and Rage
What is creativity? Creativity is pushing the status quo to the brink of self-destruction…
These are our days of love and rage. A time to expand all of our senses and engulf the ills that stand before us. To tear down the curtains and facades of misdirection and misinformation. To fell the master’s house by all tools necessary.
Settle Me
Flying flags with arms in hand
Network lies many don’t understand
This land has been taken for good
22% is all that may remain
We have taken to amassing wealth
In a form that may deprive all
Build them up to the highest heights
May we watch these walls fall
A Diary of Community: A Manifesto in Four Parts
Community: Ideas of common interest, fellowship, cohesion, unity, cooperation, the list could simply go on. But do the above words really describe the feeling of community and what community really is? I think not. Community is something more than can be easily defined by words.
